Issues Rising During the Balsamic Moon

June 12, 2010

The last two days have been filled with odd things rising to the surface.  Problems becoming known, and seeming unsolvable, concerns about hidden agendas, etc.  I’ve felt drained, over-extended emotionally and just in need of more quiet time.

I’ve been reading about the lunar cycles a lot of late, and, as many of you have seen, we post here from time to time about New Moon rituals, wishes, etc.  So, as I read about the current cycle, the Balsamic Phase, everything I read talked about how the days of the Balsamic Moon can seem like there’s been a tangle knotted in everything, and problems being revealed that can be addressed in the next cycle, the New Moon.  It struck me as quite interesting, given that I didn’t know this phase dealt with those things, yet that is exactly what has been transpiring around me.

When I got home this afternoon, I processed with Rebecca for a bit, and then I laid down on the couch and napped with my Siamese.  When I got up I just felt drugged and sluggish, and still feel very much the same way.  I’ll more than likely call it a very early night.  More that coincides with the Balsamic Moon.  A time for healing and introspection.  Little is more organically healing than sleep.

The sites I looked at also talked about it being a time of meditation and relaxation.   Preparation time for the upcoming New Moon.  And, actually, it’s the time to make wishes, because needs are felt more strongly, more deeply at the Balsamic moon and therefore more energy will go into the wish.  Another site talked about following the moon cycle as a method of time management and project planning.

I’ve included some links to those sites below.  Have a look for yourself, and see what you think.  For me, there is something that feels very right about paying attention to the cycles of the moon.  Perhaps it’s because my moon sign is Cancer.  Perhaps it’s because I grew up in the country, and heard all the folk lore about rings around the moon and the direction of the crescent indicating rain or no rain, or that you should plant your garden by the dark of the moon.  I feel an affinity with moon.

While  I’ve sat here writing this blog, the moon has moved from Balsamic to New.  Tomorrow is also a new day.  The New Moon is a good time for planning out what you’re going to work on for this moon cycle.  So hopefully, solutions will present themselves for the issues that have been raised during this last cycle.  What will I work on during this cycle?  I’m not sure yet, but as I learn more about this moon cycle process, I’ll post more about my thoughts and observations.  In the mean time, I’m going to respect my body’s need for rest and go get it.

  1. I did the abundance check at 2 previous new moons. For May’s full moon, I took the checks outside and burned them to release the intention to the world. I didn’t like seeing them sitting around “uncashed” so I thought I would “cash” them in. Things did turn around for professional abundance.
