Travel Inspires

October 9, 2010

I think of travel as a spiritual journey, a challenging adventure, a journey of discovery or sometimes just a task to be completed.

Here’s a link to an earlier post describing  my Peace Corps experience and what I experienced living and traveling in Kazakhstan. I’ve learned some profound lessons about myself and the world through travel.

Some thoughts from other travelers:

A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving. -Lao Tzu

Travelling makes a man wiser, but less happy. -Thomas Jefferson

I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move. -Robert Louis Stevenson

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness. -Mark Twain

All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware. -Martin Buber.

More travel quotes found here and here

Wishing you enjoyable journeys near and far.

-Rebecca
