Committing to Optimum Well-being
September 3, 2011
I have learned commitment is key to achieving optimum health and well-being. Establishing and implementing routine practices to support my well-being allows me to maintain my commitment consistently. Following are the activities I do on a regular basis to support my optimum well-being with links to some previous posts:
- Automatic writing
- Positive affirmations and self-talk
- Guided imagery
- Visualization
- Exercise
- Practice gratitude
- Eat nutritiously and take vitamins/supplements
- Use essential oils
- Listen to music
- Read inspirational books, magazines, blogs, etc.
- Connect with like-minded people
- Share fun times with family and friends
- Enjoy nature
- Travel
- Get massages
- Go to the chiropractor
- Work with a personal coach
Structure helps me achieve my commitment. I plan ahead by setting goals for how often I desire to do these activities. For the ones I strive to do every day, I try to do them at the same time to make it routine. For the others, I schedule appointments or put them on my calendar to make sure I stay reminded of my commitment. I check in with myself in my journal on a regular basis to assess what’s working and not working, and shift my expectations or recommit depending on how I’m doing.
What practices support your well-being and how do you maintain your commitment to them?
