Feedback I’ve received recently about people’s lives being transformed has made my heart sing. I am so excited to hear how the Heal Your Life and mind-body skills work, which I have been so inspired by, is making such huge differences in people’s lives. When I hear stories of people feeling like they have a new life from implementing the relatively easy tools I share in my workshops and coaching, I am inspired to keep following my heart and doing the work I love, which doesn’t even feel like work. Practicing Mindful Eating
January 28, 2012
I am in Washington DC attending the Center for Mind Body Medicine’s Advanced Training. I realized yesterday at lunch that I desire to practice mindful eating more often. The realization came to me as we were beginning lunch when the facilitator invited us to offer gratitude for the meal we were about to eat, and I had already gobbled down half my plate. I wondered in that moment why in the world I eat so fast. It has been a way of life for me as long as I remember, and I don’t enjoy almost always being the first one finished with a meal. Pay Attention to Your Words
January 21, 2012
I attended an interesting workshop at the Baton Rouge Unity Church a few weeks ago about Effective Communication facilitated by Charles Frost. I was surprised to learn about his belief that “Why” may be the most damaging word in the English language. Charles explained that the word “Why” often puts people on the defensive because of negative experiences they had as children. For example, they may have been asked “why did you do that?” Or they may have received responses to “why” questions like “because I said so.” He suggested replacing “Why” with “How is it possible”. New Theme: Expectation
October 3, 2011The photo with this post shows a newborn bird who has broken out of its shell and is expecting something to eat. Maybe this baby is expecting to be noticed or simply announcing its arrival and awakening to new life. What will it do next? I expect it will be cared for, learn to fly and one day make its own nest.
Our theme for the next three months is Expectation. Here’s the dictionary definition for “expectation”: Read the rest of this entry ?

Healing – The Next Chapter for Me

I am celebrating my birthday tomorrow at the Center for Mind-Body Medicine Professional Training Program in Washington DC. The program started today and lasts through Wednesday. The Park Supports My Well-being
September 10, 2011
As I sit eating lunch in the park near my office, I am grateful for all the experiences I’ve had here and that this place holds so many memories. I used to live near here and take walks through the neighborhood, which is how I first learned about the park. Once I discovered it, I started coming here for calls with my first coach Cookie because it was a close place to escape from my office.

Action and Commitment Propel Us Forward
August 6, 2011
I was reminded while participating in the Creating the Impossible challenge last month that action and commitment propel me forward towards achieving my dreams. Even small actions to explore something of interest gives me information to confirm my enthusiasm and inspire me to take the next step. Taking action in and of itself starts bringing desires into reality, and commitment by consistently taking the next step in the direction of your dreams can produce amazing outcomes. Optimum Well-Being in the Moment
July 16, 2011
Living in the present moment and practicing gratitude significantly contribute to my optimum well-being. In any given moment I can go within and focus on all the wonderful aspects of my world. This simple practice grounds me and shifts me from overwhelm, disappointment or frustration very quickly. When I focus my attention in a more positive direction, new possibilities emerge to the issue I am dealing with that I couldn’t see before. Read the rest of this entry ?

Letting Go of Good for Great
May 28, 2011
I recently heard Cheryl Richardson tell one of the callers on her Hay House Radio coaching show to be willing to let go of “good” so she could be available for “great.” This concept has been swirling around in my head ever since. Where in my life am I holding on to something that seems good but at the same time is not really fulfilling me? Which leads me to wonder what defines great to me? Is it one of those things that you just have a knowing about when you experience it? Read the rest of this entry ?
